PRIVATE SPHERE
There are many different touchable and untouchable layers, covering our bodies. They are protecting it while separating it from the outer world. Viewing the embryo inside its mother’s womb, there are even more layers.
The center of the performance is a shell covering a pregnant woman’s body. Three other women are taking it off of her, thread by thread and covering their own bodies with it. During this process, they have to deal with all the knots and difficulties in the thread.
During the performance, the yarn visualizes the connection between the attending women.
This work is studying breaking down the walls, unfolding, protecting our private sphere, but above of this, the secret and opportunities of being a woman.
It was presented alive at the Barcsay Museum in Szentendre at the Art Capital Festival in 2017.
