THROUGH ME
This installation is a polyester casting, that looks like a pane of glass. It incorporates my own old contact lenses, that I was collecting in the past years.
Whoever is looking through this table, is looking through my work, and my lenses in the same time, that are conserving traces my body.
So ‘looking right through me’ is coming true physically and symbolically as well – this is where the title is coming from. In my work I conserved the lenses forever in my work, through which I observed the world, so leaving a mark and catching the time are the central themes of it. Yet the art comes into life rather in the viewer, who is actively looking through it, than on its own.
